Assistant Factory Manager

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Assistant Factory Manager

Location: Gwagwalada, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Factory Manager in the day-to-day management of factory operations and production activities.
• Supervise and coordinate production staff to ensure efficient workflow and achievement of production targets.
• Monitor production processes to ensure products meet established quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Assist in production planning, scheduling, and allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor the use of raw materials and packaging materials to minimize waste and production losses.
• Work with the maintenance team to ensure production equipment and machinery are properly maintained and operational.
• Identify production bottlenecks, investigate operational issues, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate production records, reports, inventory information, and other factory documentation.
• Assist with staff training, performance monitoring, discipline, and workforce development.
• Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
• Monitor factory cleanliness, sanitation, and proper housekeeping practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving productivity, reducing costs, minimizing waste, and maintaining consistent product quality.
• Prepare regular production updates and reports for the Factory Manager and management.
• Act as the Factory Manager's representative when required and ensure continuity of factory operations in their absence.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Food Science, Food Technology, Industrial Production, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience in food, confectionery, FMCG, or manufacturing operations, with supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience working in a regulated food-production environment is an advantage.

Salary 
N70,000 - N150,000 per month
