With a focus on innovation, safety, and technical excellence, we provide end-to-end solutions that meet global standards and exceed client expectations.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Civil Site Engineer

Location: Shagamu, Ogun
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

  • The Civil Project Engineer will oversee and drive the day-to-day engineering, execution, and technical coordination for large-scale industrial projects, including structural steel warehouses, light/heavy manufacturing factories, and distribution hubs.
  • The ideal candidate will combine strong civil/structural engineering background with hands-on experience in heavy concrete foundations, post-tensioned/FM2 floor slabs, structural steel erection, and industrial utility infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Site Execution & Technical Supervision:

  • Direct daily site activities for factory and warehouse construction, ensuring structural concrete works, pre-engineered building (PEB) structural steel framing, roofing, and cladding adhere strictly to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Supervise heavy foundation works, including pile caps, grade beams, retaining walls, machine foundation pads, and high-flatness industrial floor slabs (superflat/FM2 standards).
  • Resolve site engineering technical queries, constructability issues, and structural clashes between civil design, architectural, and MEP industrial services.

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination:

  • Coordinate and manage specialized subcontractors handling earthworks, steel fabrication/erection, industrial flooring, wall cladding, dock leveller installations, and external paving.
  • Review subcontractor method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals prior to execution.
  • Measure completed site works, verify subcontractor valuation claims, and ensure quality control standards across all site trades.

Project Planning, Quantities & Progress Control:

  • Collaborate with planning engineers to update short-term (2 to 4-week lookahead) work schedules, tracking daily site output against baseline targets.
  • Perform material take-offs (MTO), monitor bulk material consumption (concrete, rebar, structural steel, aggregate), and prevent material wastage on site.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports, identifying potential project risks or delays early.

Health, Safety & Quality Compliance:

  • Enforce strict HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) compliance, particularly for high-risk operations such as crane lifting, structural steel erection at height, deep excavations, and hot works.
  • Conduct joint site inspections (RFIs) with QA/QC engineers, structural consultants, and client representatives prior to concrete pours or structural sign-offs.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: 4 - 8 years of active on-site civil engineering experience, with proven experience in warehouse, factory, logistics hub, or heavy industrial facility construction.
  • Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, MS Office, and MS Project (familiarity with Primavera P6 or BIM software is an advantage).
  • Certifications: Professional registration with relevant engineering bodies (e.g., COREN / NSE or equivalent) is preferred.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong working knowledge of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) and structural steel fabrication/erection methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial concrete floor slabs (jointless, laser screed, fiber-reinforced, or high-burnished finishes).
  • Familiarity with heavy site infrastructure, including high-load external concrete hardstands, surface drainage, underground utility trenches, and fire-water retention systems.
