Job Title: Head of Insurance Technical Services
Location: Lagos

Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced insurance professional to provide strategic leadership across underwriting, claims management, reinsurance and risk surveying within a reputable insurance organisation.
- The successful candidate will oversee these critical technical functions, strengthen risk governance and ensure sound risk selection, effective claims control, regulatory compliance and sustainable insurance portfolio profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organisation’s technical insurance strategy and governance.
- Oversee underwriting policies, risk acceptance, pricing and portfolio performance.
- Supervise claims management, reserving, settlement and loss control.
- Develop and oversee reinsurance strategies and relationships with reinsurers and brokers.
- Ensure compliance with NAICOM regulations and applicable insurance laws.
- Monitor loss ratios, technical performance and emerging risk exposures.
- Provide technical performance reports and strategic insights to executive management and the Board.
- Lead and develop the underwriting, claims and reinsurance teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Management, Banking & Finance or a related discipline.
- Master’s Degree or MBA.
- 5–10 years of managerial-level experience in the technical department of an insurance or reinsurance company.
- Proven experience overseeing underwriting, claims and reinsurance functions.
- ACIIN or FCII professional qualification is required.
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulation, risk governance, portfolio management and loss ratios.
- Excellent leadership, analytical and decision-making skills.

- A seasoned insurance professional with broad technical expertise and the ability to lead multiple insurance functions while balancing risk exposure, regulatory compliance and profitability.
