One Acre, founded in 2006, supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural trainings to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund. We serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.

About the Role

• We are seeking a  skilled data professional to oversee the reporting pipeline, ensure data integrity, and mentor a junior analytics team. Your insights will directly shape our Field Operations Strategy and help us achieve our year 2030 goals

Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Management: Oversee day-to-day field data collection operations, manage client data throughout the enrolment-to-repayment lifecycle, maintain databases (e.g., CommCare, ODK), and reconcile client data with financial records.
• Data Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control measures, perform regular data cleaning and validation, and execute back-checks/field verifications to ensure high data integrity.
• Analysis & Reporting: Analyze program data to identify trends, patterns, and overall impact. Prepare and present ad-hoc and regular reports using statistical tools and visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Superset).
• Technical & Operational Support: Design and test digital survey tools, troubleshoot mobile data collection platforms for field staff, and implement standard operating procedures to streamline data processes.
• Training & Stakeholder Communication: Train field officers on best practices for data tools, act as the primary contact for data-related enquiries, and engage with community leaders and farmers to collect vital program insights.
• Recruitment Support: Support internal hiring processes by assisting with the recruitment of interns, field officers, and field managers as assigned.
