Accountant

• The successful candidate will oversee daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, monitor expenditure, and ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor company income, expenditure, cash flow, accounts payable, and receivable.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Process invoices, receipts, and authorised payments.
• Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control.
• Prepare payroll schedules and support applicable statutory deductions and remittances.
• Ensure proper documentation for audits and tax compliance.
• Monitor inventory-related accounting records and reconcile stock values where required.
• Provide reliable financial information to management to support business decisions.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Good knowledge of bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, financial reporting, and taxation.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• High integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and professionalism.
• Experience in trading, distribution, retail, or inventory-based businesses is an advantage.
