Job Title: Digital Marketer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

• PCV is looking for a highly entrepreneurial digital marketer and strategist to work across its portfolio of companies.
• This is not a conventional social media or digital marketing role. We are looking for someone who understands that marketing ultimately exists to generate customers, revenue, and growth.
• The successful candidate will work directly with portfolio companies to develop and execute their go-to-market strategies. They will combine digital marketing, direct marketing, customer acquisition, content, partnerships and sales activation to help companies find and convert customers.
• The role will suit someone who is commercially minded, digitally fluent, confident with people and comfortable getting their hands dirty. You should be equally comfortable developing a campaign strategy in the morning, creating content in the afternoon, contacting prospective customers directly and reviewing campaign performance at the end of the day.
• You will work across multiple companies, products and sectors, giving you exposure to different business models and customer segments.

What You Will Do

• You will take responsibility and ownership for developing practical customer acquisition strategies for PCV’s portfolio companies.
• You will work with founders and management teams to understand their products, customers, competitive environment, and commercial objectives, and then translate that understanding into actionable marketing and growth plans.
• You will develop and execute campaigns across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google, WhatsApp, email, and other relevant channels.
• You will also be expected to operate beyond digital channels. This includes direct outreach, WhatsApp engagement, email campaigns, lead follow-up, partnership development, community activation, referral initiatives, events and other forms of direct customer acquisition.
• You will help portfolio companies refine their positioning, messaging, offers, landing pages, sales funnels and customer journeys.
• You will monitor leads, conversions, customer acquisition costs and other relevant metrics and use the data to continuously improve campaigns.
• You will work with designers, videographers, developers, freelancers and external agencies where specialist support is required, while retaining ownership of the overall growth strategy and execution.
• You will also be comfortable appearing in videos, representing portfolio companies at events and speaking directly with customers, partners and prospective clients.
• Experience marketing technology products is particularly important for this role.
• You should have demonstrated experience working with a technology company, SaaS business, digital platform, fintech, marketplace, professional technology service or other technology-driven business.
• You should understand the particular challenge of selling products that customers may not immediately understand or know that they need.
• You should be capable of translating a technical product into a simple and compelling customer proposition and developing campaigns that move a prospective customer from awareness to interest, conversation, and ultimately purchase.
• Experience with B2B technology marketing, SaaS, startups or emerging technology businesses will be particularly valuable.

What We Are Looking For

• We are looking for someone who is commercially curious and naturally interested in how businesses acquire customers.
• You should be able to think strategically but also execute without waiting for someone else to tell you what to do.
• You should be a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable dealing directly with founders, customers, and senior executives.
• You should be presentable, confident, and capable of representing a company professionally both online and offline.
• You should understand social media, paid advertising, content marketing, email marketing, CRM, lead generation, analytics, and conversion funnels.
• You should also understand that digital marketing is only one part of growth. The ability to identify prospects, contact them directly, build relationships, and convert opportunities is equally important.
• You should be comfortable working across different platforms and learning new tools quickly.
• Most importantly, you should be measured by outcomes rather than activity. We are interested in leads, customers and revenue, not simply impressions, followers and engagement.

The Opportunity

• This is an opportunity to become the central growth operator across a portfolio of ambitious companies
• Rather than spending your career managing marketing for one company, you will work directly with multiple founders and businesses, helping them develop their brands, acquire customers, and build repeatable growth systems.
• You will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape the marketing function of companies at different stages of development.
• The role also includes an equity component, allowing you to participate in the value created through the growth of the businesses you help build.

Compensation

• The position offers a monthly compensation of N350,000 to N400,000, depending on experience and capability, together with an equity participation opportunity.
• The equity component is intended to align the role with the long term growth and value creation of the portfolio.
