Job Description
The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conducting regular safety inspections of company properties and facilities.
  • Identifying potential hazards and recommending appropriate preventive measures.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Organising safety training and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses and preparing detailed reports.
  • Ensuring the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), where necessary.
  • Monitoring fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and evacuation procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate health and safety records and documentation.
  • Advising management on safety improvements and risk prevention measures.

Requirements
Interested applicants must possess the following:

  • A minimum of OND or HND/Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certification in Health and Safety will be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in health and safety, preferably in property management, facilities management, construction, or a related industry.
  • Good knowledge of workplace safety standards, risk assessment, and hazard prevention.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct inspections, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
