Junior and Mid Level Accountant

CCETC is a proudly independent power producer principally engaged in the business of developing power plants from the Engineering, Procurement & Construction stage, through the actual project execution, management, supervision to the operation and maintenance regime.

In Nigeria, we have 40MW installed in Sagamu, 12MW installed in Lekki Free Zone, 55MW in Ossiomo in Edo state, 14MW Rongtai Lagos Benin bypass and also 21MW in WEMPCO at Magboro. In those places mentioned, are our generating plants in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior / Mid Level Accountant

Location: Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions
• Maintain and oversee accounting procedures and processes, and ensure compliance with IFRS in the presentation of statutory reports and periodic analysis (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Take responsibility for budgetary controls and forecast preparation, actual and budget variance analysis by strategic business units with recommendations to guide management decisions, and Statement of Financial Position items (accrual, prepayment, deferred income) budgeting.
• Compute taxes, audit, and prepare tax returns
• File tax returns and process tax clearance
• Audit financial transactions and records
• Research and propose more efficient reporting methods in line with the statutory regulations and modern trends
• Develop and maintain a financial database that will reinforce confidentiality and efficiency.
• Liaise with tax consultants, external and internal auditors, as well as other regulators during periodic audits of management accounts towards meeting statutory requirements.
• Advise management on the financial health of the company and on other financial matters
• Liaise with other personnel in the finance & accounting department towards executing project accounting, inter-company transactions management and preparation of project accounts.

Requirements

• Minimum of an HND; minimum grade is Second Class Upper Division.
• An MBA in financial management or accounting will be an added advantage.
• A minimum post-NYSC work experience of 5 years, with at least 2 years' work experience in a similar role (accountant).
• Work experience in the power industry will be of great advantage.
• Must be IFRS compliant
• A minimum of 5 years working experience whose work responsibilities cover, PAYE, tax computation, audit and filing; account payables and receivables, bank reconciliation statements, preparation of financial statements, P&L accounting, payroll, management accounting etc.
• Must be between the ages of 30 and 40 years old.
