The Switchboard Operator will manage incoming and outgoing telephone communications while providing professional, efficient and courteous assistance to guests and callers.
Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.
Transfer calls to appropriate departments or guest rooms.
Take and relay accurate messages.
Provide callers with general information as authorized.
Handle guest telephone requests and enquiries.
Maintain appropriate call records where required.
Coordinate wake-up calls and other telephone-related guest services.
Escalate complaints and urgent requests appropriately.
Maintain confidentiality of guest information.
Work closely with Front Office and Guest Relations teams.
Maintain excellent telephone etiquette at all times.
Requirements
OND/HND or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience in a hotel, call centre, front office or customer-service environment is desirable.
Excellent spoken English and telephone etiquette.
Clear and pleasant communication style.
Good computer literacy.
Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Strong customer-service orientation.
Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
