Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented Terminal Clerk to support daily terminal operations through accurate documentation, data entry and coordination of container and truck movements.
• The ideal candidate should have experience in a shipping, container terminal, port or transport environment and be comfortable working with operational records and multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and update information relating to container and truck movements.
• Prepare and maintain accurate terminal, container and operational records.
• Verify container details, movement information and relevant documentation.
• Support the processing of containers entering and leaving the terminal.
• Capture truck arrival, loading, unloading and departure information.
• Coordinate with terminal operations, drivers and other relevant personnel to ensure smooth movement of containers.
• Monitor and report discrepancies in container or truck information.
• Maintain proper filing and retrieval of operational documents.
• Prepare daily operational reports and movement records.
• Provide administrative support to the terminal operations team.
• Escalate documentation, movement or operational issues to the appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a shipping, terminal, port, transport or logistics environment.
• Previous experience handling container movement records, terminal documentation or truck operations will be an advantage.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced terminal environment.

Skills:

• Good knowledge of terminal and container operations
• Strong data entry and documentation skills
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic understanding of shipping and logistics processes
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
