What is different about proofreader jobs in Nigeria?

This role page pulls only jobs where the normaliser was confident the title mapped to "proofreader". Free-text keyword matches (e.g. "engineer" in a description) are excluded. That is why the count is lower than a keyword search on other boards - but every result is genuinely for this role.

Why do I see fewer proofreader jobs in Nigeria listings here than on other job sites?

Because the same proofreader jobs in Nigeria is usually advertised in several places, and we keep one copy of each. A site showing 6,000 listings for this search is very often showing you the same 2,300 jobs multiple times. Openings reconciles every posting across sources so you never review the same role twice. We also take listings down the day they close rather than leaving them to pad the total.

What does "employer checked" actually mean?

That we matched the employer to a company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and confirmed the listing came from them. It is a check on who they are, not a judgement of what they are like to work for - company profiles carry the hiring history for that. About 0% of our live openings are with checked employers.

A listing asked me to pay for a form. What now?

Report it from the listing and tell us what they asked for. No employer here is allowed to charge you anything to apply, be screened, be tested, or be hired. Listings that do are removed rather than flagged, and the employer loses their account. This is Openings policy across every job on the platform.

Why does one listing say pay not stated?

Because the employer did not publish a figure and we will not invent one. Use the salary snapshot on this page instead - that is built only from comparable proofreader jobs in Nigeria that did state their pay, with the sample size shown. About 20% of live listings on the platform state a figure up front.

How often is this page updated?

The ingestion pipeline runs continuously in the background, so new listings appear here within minutes of being published or received from an employer. Applications that close, expire, or are withdrawn drop out the same day - no stale results.

Can I get an email when new proofreader jobs in Nigeria are added?

Yes. Save this exact search from the "Save this search" surface in the sidebar and we will send you the newly added matches. If a week passes with nothing new, we send nothing. Unsubscribe with one click from any email.

What is the "matches your profile" percent on each card?

A deterministic score comparing your Openings candidate profile (target roles, skills, experience years, location) against the role you are viewing. It is transparent - not a black box - so a 40% score usually tells you which specific requirement is missing.
