Grinding Supervisor

Sunplast is a leading plastic manufacturing company in Nigeria with almost 30 years experience in the plastic manufacturing industry. Sun Group entered into the Plastics industry through the acquisition of a plant in Sango Ota, Ogun State in 1991. A second plant was installed and commissioned in 2000 in Lagos. In 2015 both plants were merged under one roof in Ogun State. The plants, which operate under the names Bright Products Limited and Sunplast Industries Limited, are equipped with top-of-the-line injection molding machines from China, India and Taiwan.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Grinding Supervisor

Location: Ota, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily grinding operations, including the processing of plastic materials, regrind and production waste.
• Ensure the timely supply of properly processed materials to the production department.
• Monitor grinding machines and equipment to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime.
• Supervise the sorting, cleaning, grinding and proper storage of plastic materials.
• Ensure that materials are processed according to required quality and production specifications.
• Monitor material usage, output, wastage and recovery rates.
• Conduct regular inspections of grinding equipment and report faults promptly to the Maintenance Department.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, Warehouse and Logistics teams for smooth operations.
• Supervise grinding personnel and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of materials received, processed, rejected and transferred to production.
• Minimise material contamination, wastage, equipment damage and production losses.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, cleanliness and safe working conditions within the grinding area.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly grinding and production reports.

Requirements

• OND, HND or BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in grinding, recycling, reprocessing or production operations within a manufacturing company.
• Experience in a plastic manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of plastic grinding processes, material sorting, regrind handling and production procedures.
• Ability to operate, monitor and troubleshoot grinding machines and related equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production reporting systems.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and coordinate effectively with multiple departments.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, accountability and attention to detail.
