Job Title: Head, Technical Services

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced insurance professional to provide strategic leadership across underwriting, claims management, reinsurance and risk management.
  • The successful candidate will strengthen technical governance, improve portfolio performance, ensure regulatory compliance and support sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical strategy and governance across underwriting, claims and reinsurance.
  • Oversee underwriting standards, risk selection, pricing and portfolio profitability.
  • Supervise major claims, claims reserves, recoveries and loss control.
  • Develop reinsurance strategies and manage relationships with reinsurers and brokers.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable insurance regulations and risk management frameworks.
  • Monitor technical performance, loss ratios, costs and key performance indicators.
  • Lead technical teams and present performance reports to executive management and the Board.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • 5–10 years of relevant insurance or reinsurance technical experience, including managerial-level responsibilities.
  • ACIIN or FCII professional qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in underwriting, claims and reinsurance management.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication and risk management skills.
