We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pastry Chef / Baker

Location: Maitama, Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, bread, desserts, and other baked products.
• Follow approved recipes, measurements, and production procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
• Prepare products such as cakes, cupcakes, doughnuts, cookies, pies, meat pies, sausage rolls, puff-puff, croissants, and other pastries as required.
• Decorate and present cakes and pastries attractively and professionally.
• Ensure all ingredients are properly measured, stored, and handled to prevent waste and spoilage.
• Monitor the quality, freshness, taste, texture, and appearance of all pastry products.
• Maintain proper portion control and ensure products are produced according to approved specifications.
• Assist in developing new pastry products and improving existing recipes and presentations.
• Ensure proper food costing and portioning to support profitability.
• Monitor stock levels of pastry ingredients and inform the supervisor of items requiring replenishment.
• Maintain accurate records of production, wastage, and ingredients used.
• Ensure all pastry equipment, utensils, and work surfaces are clean and properly maintained.
• Comply with all food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Properly label and store finished products according to company standards.
• Minimize wastage and control the cost of production.
• Work closely with the Head Chef, kitchen staff, and service team to meet daily production requirements.
• Prepare special orders and customized cakes or pastries according to customer requirements.
• Ensure products are ready on time for display, service, events, and customer orders.
• Report equipment faults, ingredient shortages, quality issues, and other operational concerns to the supervisor.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management or the Head Chef.
