Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Chinese Chef who can prepare a variety of authentic Chinese dishes while maintaining excellent standards of taste, food quality, presentation, and kitchen hygiene.
• The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and be able to work efficiently in a professional kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including fried rice, noodles, stir-fries, soups, dumplings, and other traditional meals.
• Ensure consistency in the taste, quality, portion sizes, and presentation of all dishes.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, and seasonings required for daily cooking.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, food hygiene, and safety.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and report shortages or ingredient requirements.
• Minimize food wastage and ensure the efficient use of ingredients.
• Follow recipes and contribute ideas for improving the menu where necessary.
• Work with other kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Ensure cooking equipment and utensils are properly used, cleaned, and maintained.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Chinese Chef in a restaurant, hotel, or similar establishment.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine, ingredients, sauces, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to independently prepare a variety of Chinese dishes.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Must be reliable, disciplined, and attentive to detail.
• Culinary training or certification is an added advantage.

Salary
N120,000 - N180,000 per month.
