Job Title: Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Specialist
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and fire suppression systems in buildings and facilities.
Install and maintain fire alarm control panels, smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, and other fire detection and notification devices.
Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot fire suppression systems, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, hydrants, hose reels, and gaseous or other specialised suppression systems.
Diagnose system faults, investigate alarms, and carry out corrective maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance, functional testing, and system inspections in accordance with approved procedures and applicable fire safety standards.
Test fire alarm interfaces with other building systems, including BMS, HVAC, access control, and emergency shutdown systems, where applicable.
Inspect fire extinguishers and other portable firefighting equipment, and coordinate servicing or replacement when required.
Check suppression system cylinders, valves, pipework, pressure gauges, nozzles, and associated components for damage, leakage, corrosion, or abnormal conditions.
Carry out system testing and commissioning after installation, repairs, or modifications, and document the results.
Respond promptly to fire system faults, alarms, and maintenance requests, and escalate critical defects immediately.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, maintenance, faults, repairs, and equipment servicing.
Ensure fire alarm and suppression systems remain operational and that identified defects are reported and addressed promptly.
Coordinate with other technicians, engineers, contractors, and facility management personnel during installation, maintenance, and testing activities.
Ensure maintenance work is carried out safely, following approved procedures and applicable fire safety requirements.
Follow appropriate isolation, impairment notification, and reinstatement procedures when systems require maintenance or testing.
Ensure fire protection equipment and work areas are kept clean, accessible, and free from obstruction.
Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and report recurring faults or required upgrades to the supervisor.
Provide technical guidance to facility personnel on system operation, routine checks, and appropriate response to system faults.
Perform other fire alarm, fire suppression, and fire safety maintenance duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 per month.
