How to verify a Nigerian employer before you apply

Nigeria's job market has a legitimate front-desk problem: it's genuinely hard to tell a real employer from a boiler-room scam by the posting alone. This tool blends five signals - CAC-verification against the Corporate Affairs Commission registry, review sentiment from actual employees, salary transparency percentage, cross-source reach (how many independent job boards carry them), and any user audit reports - into a single A-F grade.

A grade of A or B means the signals we can see are positive - verified corporate identity, publishes pay, positive reviews, appears across multiple sources. C means legitimate but sparse signal (typical for smaller companies). D or F means provisional profile or user reports on file.

Important caveat: a high score doesn't certify legitimacy, financial health or personal fit. It reflects the signals in our data at this moment. Always do your own reference checks with people who currently work there.

Frequently asked questions

What does CAC-verified mean?

The employer has been matched to a valid entry in Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registry - the same body that issues business registration numbers. It confirms the entity legally exists.

Why is a well-known company showing a low grade?

Grades reflect signals visible in our data. A well-known employer that doesn't publish pay, hasn't been reviewed on Openings and appears on only one source will score lower than a small company that's transparent on all fronts. Fame isn't a trust signal.

How often are grades refreshed?

Computed live on every lookup - no cache. New reviews, new salary submissions or new verification status affect the score immediately.
