How to evaluate a Nigerian job offer

A job offer is more than the base salary line. This tool parses the full offer text - base, signing bonus, annual bonus, equity, benefits, work arrangement, start date - then benchmarks the base against our merged salary corpus so you know where you sit in the market for that role and location.

The verdict compares your monthly base to the p25/median/p75 band. Below p25 means you have material room to negotiate up. In the p25-p75 band is at market - solid, but push on non-salary levers (equity, learning budget, remote days). Above p75 is a strong offer - understand why so you can defend it in your next move.

The parser handles NGN, USD, GBP, EUR with monthly, annual, weekly, daily and hourly periods. It's regex-based - free-form phrasing may confuse it. Anything we misread, correct manually and re-run against the Salary Benchmark Checker.

Frequently asked questions

Is my offer letter stored?

No. Your offer text is parsed on our server for this request only, and immediately discarded. Nothing is stored, logged or sent to third parties.

What if the parser misses a field?

The parser is regex-based to keep it fast and private. If it misses your role title, salary or location, jump straight to the Salary Benchmark Checker and set the fields manually.

How do I use the verdict to negotiate?

Anchor on the median, not the p25. Ask for the top of your band if you have 3+ years relevant experience. If base is capped, negotiate on equity, learning budget, extra leave or work arrangement. Always confirm the counter in writing.
