Counts every published job by state. Filter by role to see where a specific role hires most.

Where are the jobs in Nigeria?

Nigerian hiring is heavily concentrated in Lagos - typically 40-60% of live technical, product and finance openings. Abuja follows for public-sector and diplomatic-adjacent roles, then Port Harcourt for oil & gas, Ibadan and Enugu for regional operations. This heatmap counts every published job across every source we ingest, grouped by state, so you can see where a specific role is actually hiring right now.

Filter by role to spot specialist hotspots. Backend engineers cluster in Lagos and Abuja; oil & gas in Port Harcourt, Warri and Lagos; agriculture across Kaduna, Kano and Oyo. The colour intensity is relative to the busiest state on the current filter - a "dark cell" for a niche role may only mean 3 postings, not 300.

Frequently asked questions

Which Nigerian state has the most jobs?

Lagos, by a wide margin. Typically 40-60% of all published jobs across the corpus. Abuja is second for federal, diplomatic and NGO roles. Port Harcourt leads for oil & gas.

Does this include remote jobs?

Remote jobs are counted against the location listed on the posting - usually the employer's HQ state. So a Lagos-HQ company offering remote roles counts as Lagos on the map.

How current is the data?

Only live, published jobs. Refreshed on every page load. Expired or withdrawn postings are excluded.
