Retail Sales Officer

Job Summary

• We are seeking a confident, energetic, and customer- focused Retail Sales Officer to join our showroom team in Festac, Lagos.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging customers, understanding their needs, recommending suitable products, generating sales, and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
• The ideal candidate should be target-driven, persuasive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers into the showroom and provide professional assistance.
• Understand customers’ needs and recommend suitable products based on their requirements and budget.
• Explain product features, specifications, benefits, prices, and available options to customers.
• Demonstrate products and explain their functions where applicable.
• Actively pursue sales opportunities and achieve assigned sales targets.
• Generate sales through effective customer engagement and product presentation.
• Upsell and cross-sell relevant products and accessories.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries.
• Follow up with prospective customers to convert enquiries into sales.
• Maintain good relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Ensure customers receive accurate information regarding product availability, pricing, and promotions.
• Process sales transactions accurately and maintain proper sales records.
• Ensure products on display are clean, properly arranged, and correctly labelled.
• Report stock shortages, damaged products, and discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks when required.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
• Stay updated on the company’s products, promotions, and new product offerings.
• Support showroom promotions and other sales activities.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the company’s customer service standards.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related discipline is preferred with 1 – 2 years of experience in retail sales, customer service, or a similar role.
• Experience selling electronics, home appliances, consumer goods, or related products will be an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good selling, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
• Ability to work with sales targets.
• Ability to explain product features clearly to customers.
• Good numerical and record-keeping skills.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
• Energetic, confident, and presentable.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Male candidates are preferred.
• Candidates who reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Festac, Lagos, are preferred.
